I have 2003 installed (via Office 2003 Pro). Can I
install 97 on the same machine?

Thanks,
Sean

Yes you can but they need to be installed in the order from earliest to latest. I have Access 97, 2000, XP, and 2003 all on one computer but I have to install them in that order. You could install Access 97 and then reinstall Access 2003 and it should be OK. I've done it that way. Microsoft has a knowledgebase article on the subject.

I just did it in the wrong order with 2002 and then 97. BUT read the
following link from MS first! You've got to rename some stuff (and the
renaming afterwards doesn't work, but it doesn't seem to matter).

ACC2000: How to Install Access 97 and Access 2000 on the Same Computer

Excellent link, thanks a bunch. Does this apply for Access 2003 as
well?

E.G. can a single OS instance handle the running of Access 97 and
Access 2003 at the same time. Please note that I don't mean both
versions of MSACCESS.EXE running concurrently in memory, what I mean
is that one would open, do their work in, and close one version, and
then repeat that process with the other Access version.

Thanks for the additional help!

Yes. My machine (running WinXP Pro) has Access 2.0, 97, 2000, 2002 and
2003 installed. It's a mild hassle sometimes (clicking on a .mdb file
may open with the most recently used version, so I have icons to open
each Access version instead - open Access and then use File to open a
database).
