Access 2007 problem with Command Buttons

I have an access database designed and coded with an 'accdb' extension on a
windows 7 32 bit machine and Access 2007 full version. When I put this
database on a newly purchased machine running windows 7 64 bit and using
Access 2007 full version and now find that most of the command buttons on
the forms no longer work. Those buttons that use macros produced by the
wizards do work and those that use coded event procedures do not. But if
change the access file to a runtime extension of 'accdr' all buttons will
work.
Does changing a file extension fro 'accdb' to 'accdr' and running it that
way make the extension change irreversible? If not what could be the
problem? Any ideas would be most welcome.

Make sure the database is in a trusted location.
Click the Office button
access options
trust center
trust center settings
trusted locations
then add a trusted location for the database
