We have several crucial access xp databases used on our remote desktop
server by various remote workers. I have just bought a new workstation
and I am experimenting with office 2007. All these XP databases use
the "CurrentUser()" parameter in many queries and forms in order to
save lists for the user's own use. With Access 2007, there is no
workgroup sign-on so the current user always comes up as "Admin". In
the past I have used Moshannon's Speed Ferret to find specific strings
in all database objects, but they have not yet released a version that
works with Access 2007, so I cannot use this to change all the forms
and queries from the in-built CurrentUser to SelectUser (which I could
set with a new log-on screen.
Can anyone suggest either: 1) Another programme that would enable me
to find and replace all instances of CurrentUser; or 2) A way of
setting CurrentUser without reverting to using mdb and workgroup
files?
This is really holding us back as we will lose some clients who have
moved to Access 2007 if we cannot make these databases work!
Many thanks for any suggestions
