Access 2003

Hi all,
I have just upgraded my MS Office to Office 2003
registered version..... When I create and open the same
(database) in the computer, it gves me a Warning about
some Security scripts and what not... and Asks me to
update to Jet 4.0 SP8 or later.. I then installed the Jet
4.0 SP11 (For WinXP) and still get the same...
I do not have an internet connection to the computer so
cannot update Windows at home...
Could someone of you lemme know whats happeneing and what
and where from I need to install some thing to clear that
warning message... pleae.. I need this for my project...

Hi Viswanathan,

I'm assuming you mean to say that you installed Jet 4.0 SP8 as there is not
an SP11 yet. <grin> After you install SP8, the next time you open Access
you should be asked if you want to block unsafe expressions. If you answer
Yes, then you will not receive the Jet SP8 warning anymore.

Once you are blocking unsafe expressions, you will still recieve a warning
that your file may contain unsafe code. This warning is related to the new
Macro Security functionality in Access 2003. You will see this warning for
every database that is not signed with a digital certificate. The only way
to eliminate this warning without signing your database is to set the Macro
Security level to Low. You can change this from the Macro Security dialog
available on the Tools menu under Macros. Changing the security level is
also documented in the help file, just search for the phrase "change
security level" and you should find the topic.
