I have built a large database using Access 2000 used by
multiple users. I am thinking whether to upgrade to
Access 2003 just in my PC, hoping the new version fixed
some 2000 bugs.

If I do so and use 2003 verion for further development,
will users who still use Access 2000 still be able to run
the new application? What impact should they expect? What
is new about 2003 version?

Thanks,

Shirley

You can continue to use the Access 2000 file version in Access 2003, and
users with Access 2000 will be able to use those applications provided you
are careful not to use any new features that were not supported in the
earlier version. This may help if the bugs you're encountering are bugs that
occur during development, but it will not make any difference if they are
bugs that occur during production use, as the users will still be running
the application under the old version of Access.

If you haven't already done so, make sure your users are up to date with
Office and JET service packs (ask them to visit the Office Update and
Windows Update sites at www.microsoft.com)
