I currently have 6 new Dell computers all with XP-OS and
Office Pro 2003. Only one of them will open/edit/print
Reports in Access. All the user accounts are "Standard
User", and it doesn't matter whether the data is local or
on a server.

The one that is working, I had to delete the old user
account on the server and set up a new account - that is
time consuming to restore email and shortcuts for
multiple users.

All the other functionality is there, but I can't do
anything with Reports.

Any ideas what is going on?

I'm guessing that no printers have been installed on these new PCs yet?

Access uses metrics information from the printer driver to calculate how it
should lay out the report. If no printer has been installed, that process
may not work.

You do not have to actually attach a printer: just install something under
Printers in the Windows Control Panel.

If that is not the solution, and deleting the user solves the issue, they
may have been set up so that the default user has inadequate permissions,
e.g. does not have write permission to the custom-defined TEMP folder.

There are printers installed on all machines in question.

Where is the default user account you are referring to?
Server(Global), Local, or is it an Access account. The
only local account is an Administrator account, which if
you are logged in as Administrator the Reports work fine.
But we need the local user to be a power user on Network.

Where is the cutomed-defined Temp folder?

For WinXP, the default temp folder is typically:
c:\documents and settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temp

It is possible to specify a different folder, and it can cause problems if
it does not exist, or the user does not have permissions.

Ultimately, if you know that the reports print for the Administrator user,
then this is a Windows permissions issue.
