I downloaded the federal do not call list in xml for area code 609. When I try to open or save it in access 2003 I get "unrecognized database format"

Note: the file opens using xml and ms word. I want it in access so I can manipulate it

I checked all help I could find and tried different workarounds. The delay is costing me $$$. Any help will be appreciated

Thanks.

Not sure what the issue might be, but you might try opening it in Excel and
saving as spreadsheet....then import to Access.

It sounds as if you may be trying to do something like this:
Open Access.
Select the XML file as the database you want to open.

This sort of procedure will work in opening an XML file in Excel and Word,
but I'd be very surprised if it worked in Access.
(Note that you can open a csv file directly in Excel or Word, but not in
Access.)

The file should be imported into Access:
Create a new database in Access.
(Or use an existing one, if that's what you want to do.)
With your target database open in Access, use File - Get External Data -
Import to import your XML file into the Access database. (Or use File - Get
External Data - Link Table if you prefer.)

Paul:

Thanks. Tried that, but excel only has approx 65,000
rows. I need far more than that.
