After upgrading an Access 97 MDB , I am experiencing slow
response when I go to forms to edit the interface. For
example in design mode when double clicking on the command
button, the property window does not show up immediately,
it takes a couple of seconds for it to come up. In
another occasion when sizing the text boxes or labels, it
is very slow so when I move the field by using in Ctl
arrow, I can't visually access what is going on because
the response is very slow, and at times it freezes, which
would cause a corruption to the database. Very
frustrating.
I have Win XP and we just added additional RAM totaling
512. The PC has been optimized. This behavior happens
either locally on the C: drive or the LAN drive.

Does anybody experience this with Access 2003? If so what
is your PC configuration, and what have you done to remedy
this? And if not what is your PC configuration?

Your feedback is appreciated.

I haven't had any problems. I'd recommend that you first make sure that you
have Name AutoCorrect turned Off. It causes all sorts of problems and could
be a contributing factor to your performance problem. Look under
Tools->Options->General.

Are you having performance problems if you open a new database or is this
problem limited to the converted one? If it is only a problem with the
converted db you might need to import all of your objects into a new db. You
could also try doing a decompile.
