I open my access 2003 file and it opens and immediatley begins installing
some windows installer thing. It does this every time. then when I am finally
able to work with the file the program shuts down unannounced, like when I
try to print. It doesn't print, it just closes the whole program. I tried
restarting my computer. I think all my updates are current. My Anti-virus
program is running. I don't know what to do. I mainly need to print, but cant
get that to work.

You could try to do a repair on your Office installation.

Go to control panel, add/remove programs. Microsoft Office, click
Change.

Then choose to do a repair. It could take a little while to complete.

The following hotfix might help.
