Is it advised to select: Compact on Close?

Are there any Pros and Cons to this action or should it be done manually?

Because your PC could suffer a power-line fluctuation during the Compact &
Repair, the consensus here in the newsgroups is to make a backup copy of
your db before manually running the Compact & Repair.
