I have been using Access 2003 on WinXP (SP1) for a while now and am
continually having problems with multitasking.

When I switch from Access to aother appp and then switch back there is a 2-3
delay for the screen to refresh. Sometimes the desktop will display within
the Access form.

What is causing this? It happes on 2 different machines.

Hum, have not seen that problem, nor have I seen any people
posting/complaining about this.

I certainly seen some controls on screens that have a "delay" before the
controls display (especially controls on a screen that are a "function".

However, this is not particular to a2003...and in general not much of a
problem.

Hum, can't think of anything to check here?

I wish I could be of more help!

Do all you a2003 apps exhibit this problem?

Thanks Albert

This seems to be a definite problem for me, on both my workstation at home
and at work. Both are running Win XP and using Access 2003 but neither have
XP SP2 installed yet.

When I switch to Access from, say my browser, there is a delay, 2-3 seconds,
in which Access does not respond. And the active Access form will not
immediately refresh. In fact you can see the desktop or part of the
previous screen inside the form window before it finally refreshes.

This is most irritating. It did not happen with Access 2002. I have been
working with 3 different Access databases and it occurs with all 3.

No one else is experiencing this?

Hum, I run a2003 on both sp2, and non sp2 machines..and not seen the delay
problem.

Have not seen posts here either.

I CERTAINLY hope that you come back and share what solution/fix you
eventually find....

Could you be using "timer" code in a form?
Does this occur with both mdb, and mde applications?

I am at a loss here right now...but obviously something is a miss on your
pc....
