Eric

I've posted this question before but no one has responded
so I'm gonna try this again.

I have Access '02 and whenever I try to make a subform on
my main form page I get the following pop-up box...

"The table "(whatever name of the table I'm trying to
create a subform for)" is already open exclusively by
another user, or is already open through the user
interface and cannot be manipulated programmatically."

I've checked my relationships and it seems fine so then I
try deleting the subform and reopening up the main form
page but the same message occurs except using another
subforms table name and it continues on down the line
until all the subforms names appear in the message and I
can't see any of them. I don't know if this is a problem
with Access '02 seems to me it is because I haven't had
this problem in Access 2000. Anyway thanks in advance
for your help.

If another instance of Access on your PC or on a different PC has a table
open in design view then the table is locked from view.

Have you checked that nobody else has the table open in design view?

Hope this helps

This can occur when access has not closed properly and a 'spare' access is
open with file extension".ldb"

Look for this in the folder where your design db is. If you find it delete
the .ldb (file size wil be smaller too) open the db in design, select tools
and then compact and repair database.

Thanks Mark for your reply
I've repaired and compacted the database but I'm still
having trouble deleting a record on the main form.
Everytime I try to delete it the pop up message stated
below still comes up. Any other suggestions?
