I downloaded from the Web a inventory DB called: 01018458.mdb , been using
it for a while, modified it a bit to show better results in the reports
area, but I have a problem that 1 or 2 fields wont show up in the reports or
the datasheet view mode and would like to fix it. If I view in the form
view, the fields look ok.

I have tried to figure it out on my own, but it looks like there is a rule
in effect preventing me from initiating the changes. I know this is not much
to go on, but I dont know where to begin - any help is appreciated.

Can you open the reports in design view and check the Record Source queries
for the fields?

Hi Duane -

Yes - the ones giving the error show :

=[Products Subform].[Form]![UnitsOnHand]

=[Products Subform].[Form]![UnitsOnOrder]

As the Control source.

A form.

| Those aren't fields, they are text boxes. Are they on a report or a form?

Now I am really lost. This is a reports NG and you mentioned "1 or 2 fields
wont show up in the reports". You also mentioned "datasheet" which reports
don't have and then gave control sources that seem to reference a subform.

Can you please try again? I can't figure out what you have, what's not
right, and what you want to have.

Apparently you have a form with a subform. The form has two text boxes on it
that refer to controls on the subform.

What is the error? Do you get an error only when there are no matching
records in the subform?

Hi Duane -

Sorry for my ignorance on the workings of MS Access.
When I went into the design view like you mentioned, the window that
opened
said: form inside the diaglogue box. So I figured it is a form. I am
trying
to attach a screenshot of that view to this post. Steve

In the Datasheet View, those 2 columns just show: #ERROR as the data. In
the Form View, those show correct quantities for each record.
If I try to generate a report, it will show #ERROR too, I believe.

I guess the Sub-form is where you enter a date, and the qty you recieve ,
qty sold, and its suppose to come up with a qty on order, and a qty on hand.
The qty on hand shows up fine in the normal form view like I said, and I
would like it to be able to show up in a report. The other field, qty on
order is not as important, but if it has to be changed with the fix for the
other field, I will do it.

There have been lots of posts on how to get a total from a subreport display
in a main report. The syntax is nearly the same as a form and subform with
changes like:
=[Products Subreport].[Report]![UnitsOnHand]
