I have an issue that with Access 2002. When I try to open
start a new access project and add a new chart, a window
pops up and says "installing..." And there it sits,
forever if I let it. It will not add a chart or anything
else. The only way that I've found to get around this is
to disable the network card. Once that is done and I add
a chart, my a:\ drive flashes briefly and then I can add
any chart that I want. I've applied all the fixes and
updates and everything else software driven that I can
find and still I get the same thing. PLEASE HELP!!!

Thank you in advance.

(guessing only).

It sounds like your Office / Access installation was done using the "Network
Installation" option, i.e. installing using a network drive/directory as the
source with some settings predetermined from a (Registry) file from the
network. Quite often, Access "remembers" this persistent link and will
check the source (which might have been moved somewhere else) for settings,
etc... and you get this kind of behaviour.

Suggest you check with your network people and possibly do a "Local
Installation". Make sure you select ALL components (It a pain in the neck
finding the CD later + hard-disk space is so cheap nowadays).
