I have read several previous postings and tried the advice without
success.
Shared Access 2002 database written by someone who left the company,
but states she did not add security or create a new workgroup. Access
2002 users have been using database without having to log-in, no error
messages. A new user who has Access 2003 on her PC tried to open the
database and got the "You don't have the necessary permissions..."
error. Since then, all the 2002 users also get the same error. The
2003 user does not have a system.mdw file on her C:/ drive. However,
she has opened other databases without a problem.
Tried using a shortcut to open the database, specifying the
C:\Windows\system32\system.mdw workgroup file, but no success. Can't
find another mdw file in the folder where the database is located.
Any thoughts? Is this a 2002 vs 2003 conflict?
