HI All

I have my access 2000 database in "share" mode so many users can use it at
once.

However, even though it's set for sharing, it still won't allow more than
one user at a time.

Any ideas?

Thank you, Jack

Starting with 2000, you must have
exclusive access to make design changes.
One usually splits the database, so that
you can make design changes in your copy
of the frontend.

If it isn't related to making design
changes, check the windows folder
permissions. Users need full
permissions on the folder in order to
create/delete the associated ldb file.

Hi Joan

Thanks for the reply.

Everyone has full permissions to the folder. It's just that Access 2000,
even though in the "share" mode, still comes back with the error, "Cannot
use.. database.mdb, file already in use" error message.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Jack

sounds like the ldb file is not being recreated each
time. this is probably an issue with folder permissions.
users must have create and delete permission

Get everyone out of the mdb and see if
there is a ldb file that remains. If
so, delete it. Are you positive that
*every* user has full permissions?
