Access 2000 Find/replace and filter error

I can see the data in the table's fields. But when I
use "find/replace" or filter to locate the information in
the text field, the information is not found.

For example, the text field contains: H123
I use find and type in H123, and the pulldown options are
set to search the entire table.
The search never locates the field containing H123.

Any idea why?
 
Did you specify "Whole Field"?

From your description, you may need "Start of Field" or "Any Part of Field"
..
