Access 07 and Win 8 Touchscreen

I have been tasked to see if it is possible to modernize an old Access
application we have been using for years as a Kiosk app in Win Xp
through Win 7. The app took complete control over the computer and
used a standard keyboard and mouse for navigation. It has been working
for years, no problems.

Now the powers that be want to know it is possible to move this app to
a full touch screen Windows 8 implementation. My first pass at this
fails miserably as I cannot seem to encourage the on Screen Keyboard to
display at all EVER.

I have Goggled looking for some way to pop up the OSK without any
success.

Has anyone had any experience with these new fangled touch enabled
devices and MS Access. Is there any hope that I might succeed?

I'd suggest you post this question in another forum (see my .sig). This
newsgroup was killed by Microsoft several years ago, and is now an undead
vampire newsgroup with very little traffic.

Thanks John.

I did post a Message in bothe Answers.Microsoft.com and
Social.msdn.microsoft.com. I havent a clue which one might be the
better one to try so i went for it.

Additionally after posting here eariler I have downloaded a Trial
Version of Access 13 and try'd the app there. Aside from some Menu,
Tool bar, and ribbon differences (in Access 07 we do away with all of
that stuff and just expose a boarder-less window with the controls we
need) the application performed much the same way. We are now looking
at either rolling our own keyboard, and display it as needed, or try to
keep the built in OSK open at all times, at the expense of a ton of
screen real estate. At this point I do not see any way of doing this
other than throwing the Access App away and start over with a Metro C#
Vb.net app. Ugh...

You can certainly get rid of the Ribbon and the borders. But I've had no
experience trying to integrate Access with the tablet universe!

I believe you are mistaken, this is not a "vampire" newsgroup as there's no
bloodsucking going on -- it is, however, an undead "zombie" (the dead who
walk) newsgroup. <GRIN>

And with you, me, and a few other people... it has the essential element:

BRAAAAIIIIINNNS!
