Time after time I set up a network only to find that the computers don't
"see" each other in the workgroup - at least not right away.
Playing games with the master browser has been done - like having only one
computer with the Computer Broswer service running - but this seems a little
weird in view of how things are supposed to "work".
What I want is a "magic button" to push that makes the browsing function
just happen - fast. Surely handshaking over the network doesn't take long
at all. So, why is it so terribly slow and how can that slowness be
overcome?
This is a huge time-waster and makes for very inefficient networking.
Thanks,
fred
