Hi group. You're going to laugh, I'm sure.
I've got a JVC GR-DVX8EK digital video camera, bought new in the UK in 2001.
For the first time, I'm trying to download material to my pc running XP and
with Service Pack 2 installed.
Using the cable supplied with the camera (which terminates at the pc end in
an RS-232C connector) I know the pc is connected to the camera because using
JLIP software I can download stills from the camera to the pc.
In my innocence, I thought that using Movie Maker I'd be able to download
video.
But using Movie Maker, each time I click 'Capture from video device' I get a
pop-up window saying "The video device cannot be used at this time because
there has been an error when starting the device.".
Behind that window I can see the very tempting 'Video Capture Device'
window - but when I dismiss the error pop-up window the 'Video Capture
Device' window also disappears (so I can't even try to configure anything).
So, please, what do I do to download a video? All suggestions gratefully
received.
Pathetic, aren't I!
