About using data from a Pivot Table

I have a data table in my spreadsheet for State Income Taxes, to summarize
the data I create a Pivot Table on three axes: EarnedBy, IncomeType, State.
The function is SUM.

Now, I have other worksheets in the book for various tax forms. That
requires that I pick up, say, the sum for
EarnedBy="Me";IncomeType="Winnings";State="Confusion". Or Total with
EarnedBy="Me". Or any of the other sums from the pivot table.

If I pick up a link (copy, paste-special+paste-link), it shows the cell
address from the pivot table. However, the content of that cell will vary
when I change the drop-down selection for the "page" axis.
I think(?) what I need is to spread the "pages" of the pivot table out so
that each page appears in a different region -- then all the individual
planes including the total will have unique cell addresses and the links
will be stable.

How can that be done? Or, should I use a different method to breakdown the
data? I'm having less than no luck with DSUM, and I can't make sense of the
Data=>Table explanations.

Help would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS

You can use the GETPIVOTDATA function to extract specific data from the
PivotTable. Look in Excel's Help file for information and examples.
