About unknow files called Thumbs.db

I keep having this file called " Thumbs.db " build up in My "Jpeg" and "Mpeg" Directories , can any one tell me are there normal files or some sort of virus ? many thanks.
 
Said files are normal, they hold 'the thumbnail' view of the pictures in the folder (for quick display)
Thumbs.db is normally a hidden file, an alteration must have been made in;
'Tools' menu / 'Folder Options' / 'View' tab / radio-button 'Show Hidden Files and Folders'

The 'thumbs' cache can be turned off/on at same 'View' tab, (tick-box); [ ] 'Do not cache thumbnails'

Alternately at the 'View' tab, you might simply choose the 'Restore Defaults' button to restore everthing thiere to 'default' state (click 'Apply' and 'OK')
