? About odd missing reference

Hi all - Access 2002 XP, Windows ME

In the process of resolving a default fonts issue, I had to reinstall the
Access program from the Office suite. After this reinstallation, when I
opened three of the existing databases, I got an error message saying that
the MSODRAA9.DLL version 1.0 was missing. I have never seen this error
before, and when I checked the References list, I could not find anything
that I could tell related to this missing reference.

I did find a checked box that says Missing: Drawing Addin, and the following
references are also checked;
Microsoft Access Wizard Control Library, DirectAnimation Library, Microsoft
ActiveX Data Objects 2.1 Library.

I do not recall having checked any of these additional references, I just
added the DAO 3.6 Reference. The other 3 databases don't have this error,
and these other references were not checked in their references list.

Having just upgraded to the XP Office Pro, all I can find in the Help files
that the error message provides is where to find the References, but, not
what it refers to, or if I need it or not. I can't find anything in the
references list that seems to relate, and I am not sure if this, or the
others are supposed to be checked or not. I checked all the databases after
the first upgrade installation, and the backup copies, and they all opened
without any error messages. This new message has just cropped up since I had
to reinstall. I have also done a Detect and Repair to make sure.

I would really appreciate it if someone would please advise me of what this
reference is, where I can find it, and/or if it and the others are required
for the Access 2002 XP version. Since some have them checked, with the
error, and the others don't and no errors, I am sorta confused which I need
to do, add to those that don't, or uncheck those that do?

info.asp indicates that it's associated with Office 2000 (seems to be
something called ShapeSelector). Since you're using Office XP, I'd just
delete the reference.

Really?? That's it? I can just delete them? Whew!!! (deep breathes, nose
in,... mouth out...)....

While it was kinda my first thought, as it didn't really seem to fit with
Access as far as I could find, since there are a lot of new thingies,
features and capabilities with the 2002 XP, I was not sure if unchecking
them was the right course of action. Given this last week or so of
problems I've already had with the Access XP upgrade, I *really* didn't
want to ask for any more needlessly. So, figured I should ask first. <g>

Although, when I tried to access the link you provided above, I got an error
that said that it was not available, and that there was a runtime error, and
then that there was no debugger available for it. However, it may be
something on my end <??>. Therefore, I have assigned it a case number, and
I will keep trying to make contact. ;-]]

Anytime you have a Missing Reference problem, the first thing to do is
deleted the reference, then do a compile of your application (Debug |
Compile And Save All Modules from the menu when you've got a module open).
If it compiles cleanly, then you didn't need the reference.
Although, when I tried to access the link you provided above, I got an error
that said that it was not available, and that there was a runtime error, and

Don't know if you noticed that there was word-wrap in the URL I posted. (It
ends dllinfo.asp, where as the post split it after dll) See whether this one

'k..I've got that in my Access library for rule of thumb.

I tried the web site again, and made sure all the URL information was on one
line, and here is what I am getting;

When it first opens, Error Runtime error, Line 63, Object expected, Do you
wish to Debug?
I hit YES..then I get
Just-In-Time Debugging
An Exception 'Runtime Error' has occurred in Script.
However, no debuggers are registered that can debug this exception. Unable
to JIT debug.
I click OK, then I get a Runtime Error box like the first one but with Line
231, I say NO this time, then another of the same box comes up with Runtime
Error, Line 343, Object expected. After clicking no to everything, the page
just shuts down.

I have checked several other web sites to be sure it is not my browser, and
they all work fine. Seems to be just this one web site that I am getting
these errors with. I have no idea why.

No idea. I just followed the link I'd posted, and it works fine for me.Thanks Doug, ...I'll try from work tomorrow.

Hi Doug!

Just a check back to let you know, since my upgrade to XP, I have had
numerous problems with all sorts of various areas...I had to do a Sun Java
package install to correct the Runtime error I as getting trying to access
the link you provided.

I am now able to access the reference link you were kind enough to provide.
