I believe that about:blank can be removed by scanning in safe mode with
Microsoft antispyware.

It didn't work for me. However I found a fix at
http://www.securiteam.com/securityreviews/5RP0L0UD5U.html
using the free download HijackThis program.
About blank is the most obnoxious trojan I've ever seen,
excluding the destructive ones, and was very time
consuming to remove.
