.

A. You can check by going to your Control Panel and
checking if the firewall is offline.

B. Run a full system scan with a good Anti-Virus program,
one of the best ones are AVG Free (google it).

Hope that helps!

Well, I am disappointed by AVG. It recognized Trojan
Horse Puper C, said it healed it but has not gotten rid
of it and now no longer recognizes it. I have all latest
updates from AVG. Although I haven't found a scanner
than can remove it yet. Still struggling.

When something is recognized, but not successfully cleaned, whether by an
antivirus or by Microsoft Antispyware, I'd recommend restarting in safe mode
and scanning in safe mode until a scan comes through clean. Do this with
both Microsoft Antispyware, and the antivirus product of your choice.
