Guys vista sucks big time, there is no innovation and everything you do is
slower, most programs and drivers are broken with no real reason...

BUT WATCH THIS>>>

click on the links to view the video or download them to your computer and

Now THAT is innovation!

THIS IS WOW, not the CRAP vista has......

This is the new OS for Macs called leopard and its cheaper than Bad Vista.

I haven't used a Mac in years, and I'm very happy with my Vista
installation, but this is VERY impressive.

I loved the Time Machine - makes the inbuilt backup system in Vista look
ancient.

Vista does have shadow copies or "older versions"
but without a good interface...

and this technology in vista is not new.. it existed in windows 2003
server....

Basically Vista has a feeling of a bunch of monkeys throwing a bunch of crap
together and creating low and behold > Vista

The only thing I like of the new things in vista is the ability to view
thumbnails on the desktop...

la dee da..!

Innovation, ease of use, features, etc. have almost NEVER been the driving
force behind popularity (the one exception I can think of is VisiCalc).

"Better" is never good enough and may actually harm adoption (i.e.,
BetaMax).

Recommendations or sales efforts depending on this characteristic are
doomed.

Its certainly not innovation.. it has all been done before.

Hard to believe?

Quick viewers for documents were available with windows 95.
The ability to add popup icon lists has been in windows since at least 2000.
The concept of having an easy to setup mail reader has been around since,
well mail.
Time machine looks like a poor backup solution.
It needs to work to multiple destinations and to be sure it operates on then
atomically which it doesn't appear to.
As it is the machine will crash and both the mac and the backup will be
lost, its just a matter of time.
Anyway try something similar to memeo that backs stuff up of the fly to
multiple destinations without the 1 hour wait that you get with time
machine.
Multiple desktops have been around for years too.
THIS IS WOW, not the CRAP vista has......

It doesn't look any better than windows or one of the many linux window
managers to me.
Just different.

How so?
ebuyer.com leopard £82 Vista premium £62
One an upgrade (leopard as you can only buy upgrades) the other is an OEM
pack that anyone can buy and install.

Maybe "Bad Vista" is a product you are selling and not the one M$ sell?

AFAICS neither Mac OS X nor Vista have any particular benifits for a user
other than the choice of applications which is what really matters. So do
the sensible thing.. choose the application, then the OS, then the machine
and don't be stupid and rule out applications because you are an OS idiot.

Never used a Mac. I think there is only a couple of programs out there for
it.

Yes, I know. But as you say, the user interface to it is rubbish.

Time Machine is pretty, but it has issues backing programs that use a
database approach to storing their content.

and yet vista, windows, ms in general will ALWAYS be the leader. LMAO...
must drive idiots like you crazy!

What a bunch of cool aid fanboy excuses!

Do you wear lipstick while you kiss MS arse or is it plain ol kiss?

You freak me out! If vista had these features you would love them! lol

I agree that none of it is new. Nothing in Vista is new, either - not in
the sense of *real* innovation.

The point is that Apple have put a really nice interface in front of these
features which make them very attractive and easy to use.

Take the multiple desktops feature. Seriously old hat, of course, but
presented with real polish.

I'm not an Apple fanboy (haven't used a Mac in years) but credit where it's
due - they done great work on the user interface.

Incidentally, this is yet one more nail in the "Linux for the desktop"
coffin. The subtle, understated UI of Vista or the sheer flair of the OSX
interface, the choice is yours. But between them they show just how clunky
even the current Linux distros are.

And if you want to see how to totally f*** up a perfectly useable (but
boring) UI, the Linux boys have it to a tee. Take a look at this:
. Dreadful!!

That's because its done by bored students..
what shall we design then?.. I know, lets design a windows manager.. linux
/really/ needs another windows manager.

Haven't you cockheads got anything better to do than annoy people!

F**k off and get a job!

Ol Mick just loves Cockheads. I think he's been playing with his all day
long and his hand slipped off just long enough to type out this post.
Cockheads must be his favorite word. I sure hope Mick doesn't teach school!

Just FYI
