I tried to upgrade the Windows XP Home version on my HP
laptop with an installation disk of Windows XP
Professional. The installation stopped near the end and I
received a message that said something about not being able
to find something it was looking for. I removed the
installation disk, and the problem is that now I can't
access anything else on my computer. Whenever I reboot, I
get the installation screen and the procedure described
above repeats itself.
I cannot exit out of the installation menu or the error pop
up window. I tried using CTRL ALT Delete, but that doesn't
stop the installation from trying to run again. I tried
taking out the battery for awhile in hopes the memory would
somehow drain away.
Suggestions?
