We have a weired situation in our office. There're 2 computers, say
pcA & pcB, that occasionally run into this weired problem. These 2
computers are able to ping the intranet, but, unable to ping the
internet when all other computers in the office are able to ping both
the internet & intranet. pcA happened pretty often, about once a week.
But pcB runs into the problem only once every month. Anyone has any
suggestions? Thanks!

- Check your firewall settings
- See if you can ping internat sites by IP address rather than by name

Default gateway, routing or maybe firewall issues. Assuming you're
trying to ping by IP, if by name, it could be a DNS issue.

The IPs are issued by DHCP, so gateway, routing will be the same as
the other people's who have no problem accesing the internet. I was
trying to ping by IP, so DNS was not an issue.

Also checked the firewall setting. But nothing is wrong with the
setting. What I don't understand is that this particular PC, no matter
if I setup a static IP or by DHCP, this particular PC just will not be
able to ping the internet IP when other PCs can do without any
problem. Any ssugestions? I was going to think it might be the NIC
problem, possible???
