Hi,

I've just installed AbiWord and when I tried to use it I got a pop-up
saying:

"Could not load the dictionary for the English(UK) [en-GB] language"

Can anyone tell me what I have to do please?

Regards,

I hate to be crass and negative but my advise would be: install
Open Office (or Atlantis if you want to cut size) and get rid of
ABiword. I have tried various incarnations from verison 1
onwards, but it is just plain to buggt to be released as an
alpha! :(

"Me too". I tried Abiword a few months ago, and it kept crashing on me,
loosing work in the process. Ouch! I like the general idea of the
project, but it appears that there is some way to go before it is ready
for primetime.

Thanks for the advice Martin & Mark!

I did try Open Office version 1 (I think it was) but I was deterrred
downloading v2 cos of its size.

If I don't find a solution to the Abiword problem then maybe I've give
OO another go.
