Hi,
I want to buy a new P4 800mhz FSB motherboard but cant decide between the
Abit IC7 (canterwood) or IS7 (springdale). I thought the Canterwood was a
better chipset but I have seen really good reviews of the IS7.
Can anyone give any reccomendations? And is the G version superior to the E
version ?

Thanks

General differences between Canterwood (875P) and Springdale (865G, PE and P)
are that the 875P appears to have higher performance capabilities through use of
Performance Acceleration Technology and dual channel DDR400 RAM capabilities.

The 865G chipset has Intel's Extreme Graphics feature while the PE and P don't.
That would be important only if you plan to use the video output on the
motherboard rather than having a separate video card. Within any Intel chipset
series such as 865, the different versions simply have different features. One
is not better than the other.

I'm not familiar with the two Abit boards you are thinking about. Manufacturers
are free to use features available in certain chipsets or not. Just because a
certain chipset will support a certain feature doesn't mean all manufacturers
will make that feature available in all the boards they make with that chipset.
