Hello,
I have Windows XP running on my computer. How can I setup
this computer, so that someone from the Internet can
remotely work and control the desktop of this computer
having a public IP address. The Internet User will have
Microsoft Terminal Services Client loaded.
Thanks - Nasser.

If the Windows XP is WinXP Professional, you can enable Remote
Desktop... You will either forward or enable TCP Port 3389 to pass
through your firewall/router (forward to the private address for your
XP computer).

See
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/using/howto/gomobile/remotedesktop/default.asp
for information on how to enable Remote Desktop...

I have XP Home and there is a checkmark in the Control
Panel-->System-->Remote tab that says I can initiate remote assistant
invitations. Won't this work?

I want to try this. What do I need to do. When I clicked on the Help it
wasn't much help at all. Something about needing MS Messenger. When I
start that it wants to install .NET and that I don't need. Is this just
another way of getting more MS software loaded on my system?

Nope.. That is Remote Assistance (used for system troubleshooting and
support). It is very limited....

Remote Desktop would be under this tab on XP Pro...

No, Xp
Home doesn't have remote desktop capabilties built-in. You can use
Netmeeting ( Start>Run...conf ) or get a third party program like VNC.
