Very frustrating & I'll try to summarize: I have had access to newsgroups for
years. I have Windows XP Home & subscribe to a Time Warner DSL (RoarRunner).
Suddenly I started receiving an error message that says"Your NNTP Server has
not responded in 60 seconds. Would you like to wait another 60 seconds for
the server to respond." I have been around & around with a well meaning tech
from Time Warner. His conclusion is" since you can access telnet, something is
blocking your connection. It is either firewall related or you have a damaged
browser." Windows firewalls are off - McAfee Security is temporarily off.
Should I try to re-install Explorer? Does anyone have another option ( Tried
a Forte newsreader - it's blocked also)? Thanks for any advice... AHAllen
