ABC Spellcheck

This last week I bought a new computer with Windows XP
Home Edition and when I try to send an e.mail I can`t get
the ABC spellcheck to operate.
 
Neither Windows or Outlook Express have a spell checker you have to have a
Word processer application installed for that like Office or Works. There
are spell checker available on the internet if you don't have any Office
product installed.
See if any of these are of use to you.

Outlook Express, as you're apparently just discovering, has never
had any spell-checking capabilities of its own. Instead, it relies
upon the presence of certain specific other Microsoft applications,
such as the Office Suite, Word, or the Works _Suite_ (which includes
Word, not the regular Works). There are also some 3rd-party
shareware/freeware solutions available at any of the many shareware
sites on the Internet

Spell Magic seems well thought-of, though I haven't tried it myself:
