Overview
AB Edit is a small utility designed for users of Avant Browser (Internet
Explorer front
end (shell)). AB Edit's features currently include;
- Backup/Restore Avant Browser settings
- Backup/Restore Avant Browser skins
- Backup/Restore favorites
- Backup/Restore registry
- Edit AD Blocker black/white lists (add/edit/remove)
- Edit Popup Blocker black/white lists (add/edit/remove)
- Edit Homepages (add/edit/remove)
- Edit Quick Search URL's (add/edit/remove)
- Edit URL Alias list (add/edit/remove)
- Enable/Disable sURL context menu item (http://surl.co.uk)
- Recovery Console
Updates
- Added: Enable/disable AvantFind (see notes)
- Added: 10 series beta support (see notes)
- Added: "Return" key shortcut (see notes)
- Modified: Help file
- Modified: Edit menu (see notes)
- Modified: Alias and Target boxes
- Misc: Other minor modifications/bug fixes
Notes:
AB Edit has been updated to support the 10 series beta releases. However, it
has ONLY been confirmed as working with 10.0 beta 010 on Windows XP Pro SP1
and Windows 98 Second Edition. I cannot guarantee that there will not be any
problems with earlier beta's, or future beta's.
I've added an option to enable/disable the AvantFind error page. However,
this feature will ONLY work with Avant Browser 10.0 beta 010 or newer as
older versions do not allow toggling this "feature".
With regard to the return key, I've made a slight modification that now
allows you to press the Return (enter) key to move from the Alias, to target
box. If you are already in the target box, pressing Return will auto-add
whatever you have added to the alias/target boxes (saves clicking Add).
To prevent problems when pressing the DEL or F3 key whilst typing new
alias's or target URL's, the Edit menu items will now be disabled until you
click the listview, or the listview gets the focus.
