Hi guys, just now, a message popped up, to say "aaCentre.exe has stopped working and will be closed." so I tried a Google to see what it is (because nothing appeared to stop working, that I can detect, anyway.) I gather it's something to do with the Asus mobo(?) and how it handles communications between some hardware and the PC(?) As you see, I'm struggling a bit...

My question is, should I be doing anything about this please? Thank you for looking :)

Hiya!

Have a look at the CPU usage [ctrl+alt+delete] look for the the offender if it is using 50% stop it starting with windows and see if that stops it poping up.

Hi there Itsme  thank you for your reply. At the moment, it's only BOINC that is showing up - everything else is pretty "quiet" ... but I'm guessing that I should really look again after a re-start, because presumably, whatever it was that "closed" will not actually be working at the minute. (Cor, aren't you impressed by the brilliant deductions of this woman? ) I will bear your advice in mind and make a point of looking after a re-boot.

If it causes a problem which I doubt>msconfig and disable it..thats all

Thank you again - and for the complement  :D

Your right, no problems with BOINC at all, so far, so maybe it was just a wee hiccup with something else. All seems well :thumb:

If it should cause a problem> Go into task scheduler in windows vista and disable the ASUS ACPI service provider. this should fix your problem.;)

Oh great, thank you Itsme... now that you mention it, I do remember seeing something about ACPI, when I was browsing through the Reliability and Performance Monitor some time ago. Think you have probably cracked it!! Ta very muchly :D
