AAC Audio to MP3

I have bought a MP3 player, and want to use WMP11 to transfer my music to the
MP3 player.
WMP has only shown in the liberary files that are MP3, some of my files are
AAC which I think came from Real Player?
How do I convert the ACC files to MP3? I dont mind spending a few £'s or $'s
if required, but would prefer a cost free solution.
