I have a patch that i need to copy to a existing directory
to solve a gaming problem how do i do this please help

Presumably you have been given a file containing the patch and have been
told that you need to copy it to an existing directory.

Well you need to right click on the file and select "copy". Then navigate to
the existing folder/directory and do right click -> paste.

To navigate to the existing folder you need to know it's full path. A
typical example might be...

C:\program files\??

where ?? is the name of the maker of the program/game, but it could be
somewhere else.

In this example, to navigate there you need to left click on Start and
select My Computer. Then double click on C: Then double click on the
"program files" folder. Repeat until you are in the "existing directory"
folder.
