Hi,
I was wondering if anybody knows how to get the WiFi (WLAN) module to work
as ACCESS POINT under Windows 2000.

According to the manual (and I did not see any options during setup) it only
works with WinXP which I can't try out so I would really appreciate any
help on that matter.

Does the WiFi card have a part number ? Perhaps you can look for
driver updates on the Asus web site. For example, you can find
a WL-138G this way.

http://www.asus.com/support/download/item.aspx?ModelName=WL-138G

Some of the cheapest Wifi components from Asus, use parts from
Ralinktech.com . The Ralinktech site has some drivers on it,
which may or may not be useful. (Asus is a partner in the Ralink
Technology company, which is why they get the chips cheaply.)

Looking at the MAC chip on the WiFi card (the one without a shield
on it) and seeing the maker's name and part number, will also
give you some info to use for searching in Google or some other
search engine. With so many "reference designs" floating around,
you may find that a "vendor x" driver for a particular chipset, can
be used on your card.

Paul
