First of all excuse my horrible english :-(

I'm trying to install windows xp sp1 in a A7V8X-X with a AMD XP 2600, and
during the installation, when I'have to fill some data using keyboard, it
doesn't work.

This keyobard is PS/2 and it works well in the BIOS and it works well in
other computers too.

I found in Internet some other people with the same problem, and they say
that the problem is the asus motherboard, and that the unique solution is to
buy a USB Keyboard :-(

Any idea ?

Thanks, Pirineus.

I have the same board using a standard PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 Logitech
cordless mouse (not optical) and do not have any problems loading XP.
I would suggest you just try a diffrent PS/2 keyboard and see what happens.
If you do not have a spare keyboard, just buy the cheapest one you can find
for this test and do not waste your money on USB just yet.
Don`t forget that every time you try to load XP you need to reformat the
hard drive to ensure that the copy you are installing is the only copy
there.
