I'm currently using an early pre-V1.04 A7V8X board with an XP2000+
processor.

All works fine, but I'm interested to see if I can fit a XP2500+ processor
as they have come down in price so much, and it would offer a reasonable
speed increase over a XP2000+

But .. I see that the official Asus line is that you need a V1.04 board
plus a 'FSB 333' sticker on the Southbridge to run this CPU.

Neither of which I have ..

So - does anyone know what the issue actually is with using this CPU on the
early board? The early board will do 166FSB, and the correct voltages for
the XP2500 AFAIK.

Hello I have same mobo A7V8X rev 1... and I do not have a 'FSB 333' sticker
on the Southbridge
Only thing that a´m not happy with is that ASUS raise cpu core to 1,69 volt
But it is cooler than my xp2000+, my heatsink is a vulcano7+.
