Hello everyone, just putting together a "home brew" and I can't get my mobo
(A7V600) to boot up with an Athlon XP 2600 (333Mhz FSB). The Motherboard
detects it properly in Bios(CPU Speed 2083 [CPU Freq Mult = 12.5 and CPU Ext
Freq = 166/33]) but when it reboots the system shuts off. When I go back into
the Bios it says
"During the last boot-up, your system hung for an improper CPU Speed setting.
Your system is now working in safe mode. To optimize the system performance
and reliability, make sure the CPU speed conforms to the specifications of
your CPU."
If I set it to a lower speed, like 1250Mhz then the system will boot up".
I have flashed to the latest Bios (1005) and still the same problem persists.
The motherboard should be able to handle the the 333Mhz FSB.
Any ideas on what the problem may be?
