My A7V333 board has worked OK until 3 weeks ago when it began
giving me the "System Failed CPU test" audio message at power up.
I took the processor (AMD ATHLON XP 2100+) and the memory (DDR2700)
and tried them in another machine and they worked fine. I stripped down my
system to nothing but CPU and MEMORY (power supply of course).
Still didn't work.
I sent the board to ASUS, and 2 days ago I received a new one.
However, the system gives me the same message. It seems to take a bit
longer though this time until the message starts: about 10-15 seconds.
Before, with the original board, it would start as soon as I turned the
power on.
This time I also tried a different power supplpy, form another computer
and it did the same thing: system failed CPU test.
What is left to check?
Anybody knows what exactly could cause the system to generate that annoying
message?
