Andy

i'm currently using an a7v266e mobo with a 20Gb ATA66 hard drive.
if i install an ATA 100/133 hard drive will it run at higher than 66

The A7V266-E supports ATA 100, so yes, you can run faster than your current
setup. But keep in mind that if you run the two drives (ATA 100 and ATA 66)
on the same IDE channel, they both only run as fast as the slowest drive.
So, you will be slowing down your faster drive. If you are replacing your
existing drive, this won't be an issue, or if you are installing it on
another IDE channel, it will be fine too, but you probably already have a
CD-ROM or two on that one...
