How do I remove the fan that seems bolted down to one of the chips on this
mother board...it has started to make noise on me. It is not the CPU fan.

Thanks in advance

Hardworking.

To remove this fan, remove the motherboard from the case and release the two
plastic pins from the underside of the board. That's it.

But before you try that, carefully pry off the bearing sticker on the fan.
Apply a couple of drops of sewing machine oil, 3-in-one, etc., to the
bearing and replace the sticker. I've resurrected many noisy fans by doing
this. Some have lasted years before failure.

'Hope this helps.

This work well but only use one small drop. This is a very small fan and
requires little lube. If you put too much it leeks out as the fan spins and
makes a mess. I usually clean the top off with alchol and apply scotch tape
to seal it back up.

A7V266-E users should remove that little northbridge fan and replace it
with passive heat sink. No problem here since nearly 2 years.
The chip's temperature is staying nearly at ambient temperature.

yep, get rid of that cheap noisy ASUS fan.

lasted for less than one year... well done ASUS!

I also changed it to a passive heat sink and it works fine...
