We Live For The One We Die For The One

Ahh ok unsrew it an take it off ?

Also take off the sticker and place some oil in the hole, should fix
the fan for a while if not forever if you keep adding oil when it
needs it.

Never took mine off, so i asume when you take it off its got thermal
paste on it if it has wipe it off and add a thing layer of thermal
paste on the Chip on the board, use a tiny drop and use a razar blade
to spread it to it VERY CAREFULLY, dont scrap it.

If it does not have any thermal paste, for get the step of adding
paste :)

Just take it off at some oil, if you can don't even take it off, just
turn your pc on its side and put a few drops into the hole inthe
middle of the fan :)

Then plonk it back on plug it back in and start her up should be fine.

Hows this i helped and now its on your head :)

The VIA chipset fan on my A7V266-E has begun making grinding, rubbing kinds
of sounds... as though it were about to fail. I've googled for info on
removing and replacing the fan w/o luck. If any of you know how to remove
that fan, would you please let me know or point me to a site that will
explain removal?

Thanks for your help.

Micheal.

Please excuse the multiple posts. Something is gang awry with the news
server. My apologies.

To cut down on the noise of a new fan, connect itup to a fan controler
:) i run mine at 7 volts ALL THE *@&*@* TIME.

.... and what does that have to do with the actual REMOVAL of the fan that's
in there now?

Went to the Singer store, got some sewing machine oil... three drops and all
was fine again. Thanks for the suggestion!

IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIIVE!

Keep the oil, you'll need it. Eventually you'll decide its worth the
effort to remove the mobo so u can remove the pissing thing. Its an
absolute nightmare to remove too, so best of luck.

I replaced mine with a Zalman copper heatsink with no fan using the
supplied thermal glue. Works a treat.

This summer I'll be doing some case mods, so the board's coming out. At that
time a new heatsink and fan will go on the chipset. Hey, it's something to
do, y'know.
