I have two of these systems and the F fan does'nt seem to be working on
either. Whats up?

I never had any problem with the F_FAN connection on my two A7V133 boards.
Do you know the "Rotation Signal" is NOT supported by F_FAN?
See page 39 Asus A7V133 manual rev. 1.05 E743 March 2001 3. Hardware
Setup 14) Power Supply, CPU, Chassis Fan Connectors

This was/is a common problem with the A7V133. Mine got real noisy when it
was about 3 months old. I unplugged it and have had no ill effects since.
I'm still using it today. At the time there were many threads in this group
on the subject. Most would tell you to unplug and ignor, but some would put
a chipset heatsink in its place. I wouldn't worry about it....

Like Dave says it's a common problem and many people disconnect them when
they get noisy. I took mine apart and oiled it. Yours must have gotten so
bad they just froze up. Even still I'm betting if you take them apart and
oil them they will come back to life. If you queried other users you would
probably find thousands without fans and without problems. On the other hand
I have a tough time believing the manufacture added this fan for looks. Go
ahead and oil it, you got nothing to loose.

LOL :) He is talking about the F_FAN header on the MB, not the
"F"(ing) fan that is used on the chipset. :D

Right, some people didn't even read the question before replying.
But I think original poster didn't read the manual before posting.

Thats a rather large assumption on your part. He stated that, quote "the F
fan does'nt seem to be working". This would imply that the fan itself is
not working. He never said it was the connection. The F_FAN header is
where the chipset fan plugs into.

BTW, thanks for your completely useless smart-ass reply. It was of
absolutely no use to anybody.

I've been looking for my manual and will find it soon, but the fan is still
not turning in either direction. I am sure I plugged it into the spot marked
F - fan as the manual instructed. The picture seemed clear to me, I would be
happy if it turned in either direction. Sorry I caused a commotion. Thanks
for the suggestion of oiling the fan. I will.
