I have an intermittent problem I think is coming from the PS/2 keyboard
port. Sometimes the system hangs and there is an audible sound (like what
you hear when some systems are testing RAM) that is continuous. If I jiggle
the keyboard connector I can then get it to start up, but no keyboard
activity. Also, if I start without any keyboard it hangs. I can start
upwith a PS/2 keyboard AND a USB keyboard and the USB keyboard works fine.
I can not start up at all if no keyboard is in the PS/2 port. Is there a
way to disable the PS/2 keyboard port?

Is that beep, a keyboard buffer overflow ?

You could try going into the BIOS and selecting "Halt On" [No Error].
Whether that will be enough, really depends on how the keyboard is
failing - stuck at fault, babbling, etc. I have no idea how a
motherboard BIOS responds to those faults. Maybe the "Halt On"
[No Error] setting will allow you to start without the PS/2 keyboard.
It is about the only setting I can think of.

Good luck,
Paul
