Hi,

I've just built up an A7N8X v2.0/2800+/1Gb using a Zalman 6000Cu cooler. I'm
using the Zalman speed controller with it, and every time I boot the machine
up, I get an annoying American woman telling me 'CPU Fan Failed'....when in
fact it hasn't failed, it just runs at a speed too low for the bios to
detect (about 1300rpm).

I don't get this message once I've booted into XP, and I don't want to
completely remove the message in case the fan ever *does* fail....I just
want to lower the threshold for the message.

The bios is Rev 1006, if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance.

That's because your under the minimum RPM speed setting that the BIOS is
looking for. It does the same on a A7V266-E mobo, except there's no talking
voice--but in the BIOS the RPM's (when at about 1500 or less)show up in red
print. I just installed the exact same Zalman on that board with an XP2000
about three days ago. Just crank the speed up to about 1500 or 1600 rpm and
the message should go away. Honestly, the Zalman is so quite that you won't
notice any appreciable db's from raising the speed.

You cannot do much about this, apart from turning the voice post report off.
A better alternative would be to use Motherboard Monitor 5 and set fan
threshold alarms to notify you of imminent fan failure. the other advantage
of this route is the facility to set alarms for temps too :)
