1. I have an ATI 9700 which is a AGP 3.0 card. However this mobo seems
to only support 1.5V cards. According to the ATI site this card
needs:

"Intel® Pentium® 4/III/II/Celeron™, AMD®
K6/Duron™/Athlon®/Athlon XP® or compatible with AGP 2X (3.3v),
4X (1.5V), 8X (0.8v) or Universal AGP 3.0 bus configuration
(2X/4X/8X)."

Does this mean I can use AGP 3.0 (8) ok? Does the mobo fall into the
"Universal AGP 3.0" category? Any reason not to get this mobo since it
doesn't support .8V AGP cards?

Also what is the difference between this mobo and the A7N8X? Looks
like they just renamed the FSB400 version to have the -X after it.

I was sad to find out that it has an extra slot down the middle. So my
VooDoo 5 would not fit. It sounds funny that I would want an old card
but it runs the old game CS like a million bucks.

The 9700 will work fine with this motherboard.
I got a Geforce4 Ti4200 8x AGP running no problems.

The -X is a value edition, it doesn't have extra features like
firewire, sata raid, and its a single channel memory vs the dual
channel of the deluxe version.

you may want to consider the Gigabyte 7N400-L1 which has dual ddr, 4
memory slots and 2 serial ports whereas the asus one has 3 memory
slots and one serial port.

hope that helps,
hsf.
