A7N8X-X problems.

Hi all,
just bought the A7N8X-X and am running it with a 1.4Ghz
Thunderbird and 2 sticks of PNY PC3200 400Mhz DDR Ram.However in `auto`
settings in the bios the board will only boot up with the CPU running at
1.050Ghz.If I change to `user` settings in the bios and adjust the
multiplier to get the chip back to 1.4Ghz the machine won`t boot into
windows.The highest I can run it at is 1.1Ghz.Seen as the board can take a
much faster cpu I find it hard to believe that it won`t run a 1.4 at 1.4???
I do intend on getting a Athlon 2400XP or maybe the 2500 but wondered if
anyone can tell me why the machine won`t run at 1.4Ghz? The memory is scaled
down to 100mhz also.

Don't forget that if you get an Athlon 2400XP or the 2500 that the 2400 is
not 2.4 or the 2500 is not 2.5

Sounds like you have the CPU External Freq. MHz set wrong,

100x10.5 = 1050
133x10.5 = 1400

CPU External Freq. MHz [133](Front Side Bus)
CPU Frequency Multiple [10.5x]
